TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION OF ADDICTS
52. Registration of addicts.__ (1) Each Provincial Government shall register all addicts within
their respective jurisdiction for the purpose of treatment and rehabilitation of addicts.
(2) The Federal Government shall bear all expenses for first time compulsory de‑toxification or
de‑addiction of an addict.
(3) The addict shall carry a registration card in such form as may be prescribed and produce it to
any public authority on demand.
53. Powers of the Government to establish centres for treatment of addicts. The Provincial
Government shall establish as many centers as may be deemed necessary for de‑toxification,
de‑addiction, education, after‑care, rehabilitation, social integration of addicts and for supply of such
medicines as are considered necessary for the de‑toxification of the addicts.

CHAPTER VII
NATIONAL FUND FOR CONTROL OF DRUG ABUSE
54. National fund for control of drug abuse.__(1) The Federal Government may, by notification
in the official Gazette, constitute a Fund to be called the National Fund for Control of Drug Abuse,
hereinafter to be called the Fund, consisting of__
(a) grants from the Federal Government or Provincial Governments;
(b) the sale proceeds of any assets forfeited under this Act or any other law for the time being
in force;
(c) the sale proceeds of unserviceable commodities and vehicles provided by the donor for
narcotics control purposes;
(d) any grants made by any person or institution; and
(e) any income from the investment of the amounts credited to the Fund.
(2) All receipts mentioned in sub‑clauses (a) to (e) of sub‑section (1) shall be credited to a Head
of Account in the Public Account duly authorised by the Auditor‑General of Pakistan.
