CHAPTER XI
PROCEDURE OF COURTSMARTIAL
126. President. At every Court‑martial the senior member shall sit as President.
2[126A. Religion of confirming officer, president Judge advocate and members of general
district or field general court martial. In the trial, by a general, district or field general Court
martial, of an accused who is a Muslim for an offence punishable under and Islamic law, the
confirming officer, the president, the judge advocate and the members shall be Muslim.].
127. Judge Advocate. Every general Courts‑martial shall, and every district or field general
Court‑martial may, be attended by a judge advocate, who shall be either an officer belonging to the
department of the Judge Advocate General, or if no such officer is available, a fit person appointed
by the convening officer.
