17. Mode of attestation.___(1) When a person who is to be attested is reported fit for duty, or has
completed the prescribed period of probation, an oath or affirmation shall be administered to him in
the prescribed��form by his commanding officer in front of his unit or such portion thereof as may be
present, or by any other prescribed person.
1[(2) The form of oath or affirmation prescribed under this section shall contain a promise that the
person to be attested will bear true faith and allegiance to Pakistan and uphold the Constitution of the
Islamic Republic of Pakistan which embodies the will of the people, that he will not engage himself in
any political activities whatsoever and that he will honestly and faithfully serve Pakistan in the
Pakistan Air Force as required by or under the law, and that he will obey all commands of any officer
set over him, even to the peril of his life.]

CHAPTER IV
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
18. Tenure of service under the Act. Every person subject to this Act shall hold office during the
pleasure of the 2[President].
19. Termination of service by 3[Federal Government]. Subject to the provisions of this Act and
the rules and the regulations made thereunder, the 3[Federal Government] may dismiss or remove
from the service any person subject to this Act.
20. Dismissal, removal or reduction by 4[Chief of the Air Staff] or other officers.___(1) The
4[Chief of the Air Staff], or any officer, empowered in this behalf under the rules may at any time
dismiss or remove from the service any person subject to this Act other than an officer.
