1[76. Special Provisions regarding sentences. Where a person subject to this Act is sentenced to amputation of hand, foot or both, imprisonment for life, imprisonment or whipping, the court shall also sentence such person to be dismissed from the service : Provided that the sentence of dismissal from the service may not be combined with a sentence of imprisonment not exceeding three months awarded to a person below the rank of a warrant officer which is to be undergone in Air Force custody.]. 77. Field Punishment.___(1) Where any person subject to this Act and under the rank of warrant officer commits any offence on active service, it shall be lawful for a court‑martial to award for that offence any such punishment as is prescribed as a field punishment. (2) Field punishment shall be of the character of personal restraint or of hard labour but shall not be of a nature to cause injury to life or limb and shall not include flogging. 78. Position of field punishment in scale of punishments. Field punishment shall for the purpose of  commutation,  be  deemed  to  stand  next  below  dismissal  in  the  scale  of  punishments  specified  in section 73. 2[79.  Result  of  certain  punishment  in  the  case  of  a  non‑commissioned  Officer.  A  non­ commissioned  officer  sentenced  by  a  court­martial  to  amputation  of  hand  or  foot  or  both, imprisonment  for  life,  imprisonment,  dismissal  from  service,  detention  or  field  punishment  shall  be deemed to be reduced to the ranks.]. 80.  Retention  in  the  ranks  of  a  person  convicted  on  active  service.  When,  on  active  service any  enrolled  person  has  been  sentenced  by  a  court‑martial  to  dismissal  or  to  imprisonment  or detention, whether combined with dismissal or not, the prescribed officer may direct that such person maybe  retained  to  serve  in  the  ranks  and  such  service,  shall  be  reckoned  as  part  of  his  term  of imprisonment or detention, if any. 1  Section 76 which was previously subs. by Act 6 of 1967, s. 12 has been subs. by the Pakistan Air Force (Amdt.) Ordinance, 1984 (38 of 1984), s. 8.  2  Subs. ibid., s. 9.
